PAY AS YOU SAVE MADE EASY - COMING SOON (not yet available)

Under the new fast approaching Pay as You Save Scheme, Landlords will be able to make energy efficiency improvements without having to pay all the costs upfront.

Tenants will repay the cost of the measures through their energy bill savings whilst enjoying a more energy efficient home.

All Landlords must provide a copy of the Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). We can arrange one for you if one is not available

This will show the:

  • improvements that have been made under the Scheme

  • repayment amounts the electricity bill payer needs to make

  • length of the Scheme

- The Energy Act 2011 contains powers so that from 2016 landlords should not be able to refuse reasonable requests for consent to install Pay as You Save  measures from their tenants.

- From 2018 landlords should ensure their privately rented properties meet a minimum energy efficiency standard (likely to be set at EPC rating ‘E’) or that they have installed the maximum package of measures under the Scheme.

Why Choose Us?

WHO PAYS

Pay as You Save repayments are part of the electricity bill for the property. The person who is responsible for paying the electricity bill (usually the tenant) will be responsible for paying the repayments for the improvements.

If the bill payer defaults on the repayments you will not be held liable and electricity company will use their normal collection processes.

Any new tenants moving into a property, will need to be made aware of the Scheme and acknowledge the repayments they need to make, by including standard prescribed wording.

PERMISSION FROM TENANTS

Where the tenant is the electricity bill payer, they will be making the repayments and therefore they will need to be notified of your intentions and agree to the Schemel.

PERMISSION FROM LANDLORDS

Tenants are also able to apply for the Scheme. If your tenant wishes to take out a Plan, they will first need to get your agreement for both the improvements and the financial aspects of the plan.

All improvements are quality assured and carried out by a Qualified Green Deal Assessor and Installer.

STEP BY STEP WORKFLOW

1 - ASSESSMENT

A Green Deal Assessor will come to you home, talk to you about your energy use and see if you could benefit from making energy efficiency improvements to your home.

2 - RECOMMENDATIONS

Our Assessor will recommend improvements that are appropriate for your property and indicate whether they are expected to pay for themselves through reduced energy bills.

3 - QUOTES

We will discuss with you whether a Pay as You Save Scheme Plan is right for you and quote for the recommended improvements. You don’t have to choose all of the recommendations made to you. Once you’ve chosen, we will write up a Plan for you. The plan is a contract between you and the Green Deal  Provider – it sets out the work that will be done and the repayments, including the fixed interest rate.

4 - INSTALLATION

Once you’ve agreed to a  Plan, we will arrange for the improvements to be made to your home by our Qualified Installer.

5 - BENEFITS

You can now start to enjoy a more energy efficient home. Your Plan repayments will be automatically added to the electricity bill for the home.
